Think of Refugee Resettlement as global mission on a local scale. As refugees enter into our Lincoln community they most often do so utterly alone. Refugee families and individuals have endured incredible hardships before arriving in Lincoln. They arrive here with hope, and with confidence that they will better their lives. In order to meet the physical, material, relational, and spiritual needs of refugee families in Lincoln, Holy Savior partners with Lutheran Refugee Services.
With the goal of every six months of helping one refugee family acclimate to their new home and country and become economically self-sufficient, volunteers journey with a refugee family during this transition.
You can help by collecting household and clothing items, helping to set up their new home, offering rides to church or medical appointments, and even weekly building language skills – there are numerous ways to you can get involved.
